Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.

Goethe (1749-1832)

The Moray Gig committee challenged themselves and the people of Moray to build a replica of an eighteenth century traditional admiral’s gig in which to teach the young and young at heart the skills of traditional seamanship.

That challenge has been met. The Moray Gig, a community gig affiliated to Atlantic Challenge GB, was launched on 24th June, 2000 in Findhorn Bay, Moray, Scotland. She was named Bien Trouvé by HRH Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, on 1st October 2001. (Naming the Gig)

Training

The next challenge was the training of Coxswains and Crew to the standard required by the Atlantic Challenge GB Code of Practice and making sure that the gig met the required safety standards.

The Moray Gig Coxswains and Staff Crew now open up the challenge to YOU.
